Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the VetCentral mobile application ("VetCentral," "the app," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. What VetCentral is (and is not)
VetCentral is an independent informational reference tool that helps you discover veteran benefits and programs you may want to research further.
- VetCentral is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Department of Defense, or any other government agency.
- VetCentral does not determine your eligibility for any benefit, submit applications on your behalf, or guarantee any outcome.
- Nothing in the app constitutes legal, financial, medical, tax, or benefits-counseling advice. For personalized assistance, contact an accredited Veterans Service Officer (VSO), an accredited claims agent, or an attorney.
2. No warranty of accuracy
Benefit programs, eligibility rules, amounts, and deadlines change frequently and vary by individual circumstances. Information in the app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Information may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Always verify details with the official program administrator (such as VA.gov or your state veterans affairs office) before applying for a benefit or making any decision.
3. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VetCentral and its developers, owners, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of benefits, income, opportunities, or data, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app or reliance on any information in it — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be fully excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use the app in the past twelve months or fifty U.S. dollars (US$50).
4. Your account
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.
- You may delete your account at any time in Settings → Danger zone → Delete account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or abuse the service.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app, other users' accounts, or related systems;
- Copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute the app or its content except as permitted by law;
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the app.
6. Third-party services and links
The app links to external websites and uses third-party sign-in services (Google, Apple). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
7. Intellectual property
The app, including its design, text, and organization of content, is owned by VetCentral or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
8. Changes to the app or these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the app (or any part of it) at any time. We may also update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the app's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
